Getting Started - App Admin Mode
Some features of the platform can only be managed from the mobile app. For example, administrators can create forum threads, publish posts in the News Feed, or verify participants during event check-in.
To perform these actions, users must activate Admin Mode.
There are two types of administrators who can access Admin Mode, depending on the permissions granted by the organization:
- Organization Administrators (full admin access)
- Module Administrators (limited access to specific features)
1. Organization Administrators (Full Admin Access)
Organization administrators have global administrative rights across the apps of their organization.
How access is granted
An existing organization administrator grants these permissions through the App Builder.
When admin rights are granted, the new administrator receives an invitation email to access the Builder.
⚠️ Important:
The Builder account and the mobile app account are separate.
To use admin features in the mobile app, the administrator must log in to the app using the same email address that received the Builder invitation.
If the emails do not match, the admin icons will not appear in the app.
How to activate Admin Mode
Organization administrators will see:
- an Admin tab (the last tab of the app)
- an Admin icon in the top-right corner
Using the Admin tab activates Admin Mode and unlocks administrative tools throughout the app.
2. Module Administrators (Limited Admin Access)
Organizations can also grant administration rights for specific modules without giving full admin access.
However, this is only possible for modules that are managed exclusively from the mobile app.
As of now, this applies to the following modules:
- Forum – thread creation and moderation
- News Feed – posting news updates
- Events – Verifier role for attendee check-in
How access is granted
Module permissions are granted directly to existing app users.
In this case:
- the administrator selects the user from the list of app users
- no invitation email is sent
- the user already has an app account
How to access Admin Mode
Module administrators will see an Admin icon in the top-right corner of the modules they can manage.
Using this icon allows them to create or manage content within that module.
They do not see the Admin tab, because they are not organization administrators.
Summary
| Role | Permissions | Admin Tab | Top-right Admin Icon |
|---|---|---|---|
| Organization Admin | Full admin rights | Yes | Yes |
| Module Admin | Specific modules only | No | Yes |
💡 Why this system exists
This structure allows organizations to delegate operational tasks (for example managing news, moderating forums, or verifying event participants) without granting full administrative control over the entire app.
