👉 People — Build and Explore Your Community
Overview
The People module allows you to create and manage a structured list of individuals within your app.
It acts as a dynamic, searchable community directory, where users can discover profiles, explore relevant information, and connect with others.
Each profile can include custom information, geolocation, and—when linked to a platform account—direct interaction through private chat.
Key Features
- Structured list of people displayed in alphabetical order
- Profile pictures for better identification and engagement
- Custom fields to enrich each profile (e.g. role, specialty, level, etc.)
- Geolocation support with map view to easily locate individuals
- Private chat integration (when a Movn or Medikka ID is linked)
- Advanced filtering with up to 2 customizable filter fields
Why it matters
The People module transforms your app into a living network, making it easy for users to:
- Discover other members
- Identify relevant profiles
- Locate people geographically
- Connect and interact directly
It’s a key building block for community engagement and networking.
Typical Use Cases
- Members directory (clubs, associations, communities)
- Researchers or professionals listing (Medikka)
- Players, coaches, or participants (Movn)
- Event attendees or internal teams
- Any structured list of individuals
People vs Directory
While both modules manage lists, they serve different purposes:
People module
- Designed for individuals
- Includes profile pictures
- Supports custom fields and filters
- Offers a map view with geolocation
- Enables direct messaging (if linked to a user account)
- Focused on interaction and networking
Directory module
- Designed for organizations, venues, or centers
- Includes structured contact fields (phone, email, etc.)
- Supports subsections
- Focused on information display rather than interaction
👉 In short:
- Use People for who
- Use Directory for what / where
Pro Tip
To maximize engagement, make sure profiles include:
- A clear profile picture
- Relevant custom fields
- Accurate geolocation (for map view)
- A linked platform ID (to enable chat)
This turns your list into an interactive, location-aware community hub, not just a static directory.
