Growing Your Community - Launching Your App Successfully
Launching your app is a critical step. A strong start will help you quickly gain traction, engage your first users, and build momentum.
This guide walks you through the key steps to ensure a successful launch.
1. Prepare Your App
Before inviting users, make sure your app is ready.
Checklist:
- Core modules are added (e.g. People, Events, News Feed)
- At least one event, post, or content piece is available
- Your People module includes initial profiles
- Module names and icons are customized
- Empty sections are avoided
π Your app should feel alive from day one, not empty.
2. How Users Access Your App
Your app is part of a superapp ecosystem (Medikka), which makes distribution extremely simple and powerful.
There are two main ways users can access your app:
Option 1 β Direct Link / QR Code (Recommended)
You can share your app using a link or QR code (see App Configuration β Distribution tutorial).
This link can be shared via:
- Internal communication tools
- Posters or screens (QR code)
- Event materials or research centers
What happens when users click the link:
- If they donβt have Medikka installed β it will be installed
- Your app is automatically activated inside Medikka
- The user is taken directly into your app
π No need to search for the app in the Medikka store β this is the fastest and most effective onboarding method.
Option 2 β Via the Medikka Store
Users can also:
- Download Medikka
- Open the Medikka Store
- Search and activate your app
β οΈ Important:
- Your app must be public to appear in the store
- Private apps will not be visible, but can still be accessed via link or QR code
3. Define Your First Audience
Start with a focused group, not everyone at once.
Best options:
- Existing community (members, clients, partners)
- Event participants
- Internal team or ambassadors
π A smaller, engaged group is better than a large inactive one.
4. Invite Your First Users
Donβt rely only on passive distribution β be proactive.
Recommended approach:
- Share the direct link / QR code
- Send personal invitations (WhatsApp, email)
- Use events or physical locations to promote the app
- Clearly explain the value of joining
π The link is your most powerful tool β use it everywhere.
5. Create Immediate Value
Users should find value within seconds.
Examples:
- An upcoming event they can register to
- A useful post or announcement
- A list of people they recognize
π First impression = retention.
6. Drive First Actions
Guide users to take action immediately.
Key actions:
- Complete their profile
- Register for an event
- Explore the People module
- Join a conversation
π Early interaction drives long-term engagement.
7. Use Notifications Smartly
Send a few well-timed notifications:
- Launch announcement
- First event or update
- Reminder to complete profile
β οΈ Avoid over-notifying β quality over quantity.
8. Be Present After Launch
The first days are critical.
- Answer questions quickly
- Encourage interaction
- Post content regularly
- Monitor engagement
π Your presence drives community behavior.
Pro Tip
Your app is not just a tool β itβs a gateway into your ecosystem.
The direct link / QR code is what makes your superapp powerful:
π One click β install β access β engagement
