The People module is more than just a list — it is the foundation of your community.

A well-structured directory allows users to:

• Discover other members
• Identify relevant profiles
• Connect and interact

1. Start with Quality Profiles

Your directory is only as valuable as the profiles it contains.

Make sure profiles include:

• Profile picture
• Full name
• Relevant information (role, specialty, level, etc.)
• Location (for map view)
• Platform ID (to enable chat)

👉 Complete profiles = higher engagement.

2. Use Custom Fields Strategically

Custom fields allow you to structure your community.

Examples:

• Role (Coach, Player, Researcher, Student)
• Specialty / Discipline
• Level or category
• Organization or team

👉 Think about what users need to identify and connect with others.

3. Activate Filters for Easy Discovery

Filters make your directory usable at scale.

• Select up to 2 key fields as filters
• Choose the most relevant ones (e.g. Role, Location)

👉 Good filters = faster discovery.

4. Enable Map View for Location-Based Networking

Geolocation adds a powerful dimension.

Users can:

• See who is nearby
• Discover local members
• Connect more easily

5. Enable Interaction (Chat & Follow)

The real value comes from interaction.

• Enable Chat (requires Medikka ID)
• Enable Follow to create connections

6. Populate Your Directory Early

Don’t wait for users to fill it themselves.

• Add initial profiles manually or via import
• Include key members, speakers, participants, etc.
