App Configuration - Chat

The Chat section in the App Builder allows administrators to create group conversations between users of the app.

⚠ Important

Chats themselves take place inside the Medikka mobile app, not in the App Builder.

The App Builder only allows administrators to create or delete group chats.

Messages can only be sent and read from the Chat app inside Medikka.

About the Medikka Chat System

Medikka includes a built-in Chat application that cannot be removed.

This Chat app allows users to:

Group chats created from the App Builder will automatically appear in the Chat app inside Medikka.

Each group chat displays:

Administrators can create a group conversation for selected users of the app.

Step 1: Select Chat in the left-hand menu and click + New Group.

Step 2: Select the users you want to include in the conversation.

Step 3: Click Next.

Step 4: Upload a group avatar.

Step 5: Enter a group name.

Step 6: Click Create.

The group will then appear in the Chat app for all selected members.

Only users of the app can be added to a group chat.
The administrator who creates the group does not automatically become a participant.
Group conversations can only be accessed and managed from the Chat app in Medikka.

The App Builder is only used to create, manage or delete groups.

Once the chat is created you can still manage it.

Step 1 - Click on the app in the list

Step 2 - Click Edit to edit the info and members or click Delete to delete group

Group chats are useful for:

They allow selected members to communicate quickly within the Medikka app.

Group chats in Medikka are secure and privacy-friendly.

Unlike messaging platforms such as WhatsApp, Medikka group chats do not reveal personal information like participants’ phone numbers.
